I searched today for footprints
in the dust where as a child I walked
Where many years ago explored,
with my cousins' wild game we stalked



To find one remnant of those times
faded long ago to yesterday
Be as seeing my footprints in the dust
still scattered along the way



Let our childhood memories
stay with us so very strong and true
Coming back often in reflection
bringing comfort when they do



Our childhood footprints in the dust
with the wind fast disappears
But the footprints kept in our hearts
will be with us all our years
