She stepped out into the darkness
The soft breeze caressed her face
She lifted her eyes toward heaven
Thankful for the Gift of Grace

God had seen her through this day
He gave her strength to carry on
And He would be there with her
As she faced the unknown

His promises were there for her
As she opened His Word each day
They gave her the hope she needed
That He'd never forget her or go away

As she grieved for her mate she'd lost
Her heart was broken beyond repair
She couldn't face tomorrow without God
She just reached out and He was there

He assured her He'd heal and restore her
And take her hurt, her loss, and her fear
He'd carry those burdens as long as she lived
If she'd believe in His Word and stay near
