A Tribute to a Fellow Marine

Another pair of those Wings of Gold
Has fallen from the sky.
From his comrades in the Corps is heard
The sound of a muffled sigh.

Ron Trepas wore those Wings of Gold
They were earned by a proud Marine,
To wear them was an honor to him,
For he knew how much they mean.

Ron’s transfer orders have just been cut,
He is now well on his way.
By higher authority he has been called.
There can be no delay.

Ron has reached his final leg,
Flying far beyond the sky.
And his old comrades in unison say,
Farewell, old friend, Semper Fi.

Each one of us in God’s own time
Will receive our orders, too.
Then spreading in flight new wings of gold,
Will rendezvous there with you.

Ecclesiastes 11: 5

As thou knowest not what is the way of the
spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb
of her that is with child: even so thou knowest
not the works of God who maketh all.
